I am using massive amounts of data doing a normal Plex scan with gdrive / plexdrive/ rclone

Evertime I run a plex scan it uses massive amounts of data during the scan. It generally saturates my internet connection to a point where I cant watch anything else on Plex. My scans are taking well over an hour and transfer close to 150GB with 1000 items.

I have thumbnails disabled as well as deep analysis. I have no idea what to do at this point and am getting frustrated as all heck. No one else I find seems to have had this problem. Any ideas?

My setup is a Windows PMS and SMB share with Ubuntu VM running rclone mount pointed to Plexdrive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. I am out of ideas.

My guess is Gdrive is doing some sort of sync.

In your Ubuntu VM, do you also have the Gnome data-miner running? The ‘service’ runs by default when you install gnome. It will scan EVERY filesystem it can find. It’s used for the locate command and as a search booster for nautilus.
