3 month ago i bought a remote watch pass on plex app. now i can’t watch movie or tv.also can’t resotre purchases ,how to slove this problem,help me
Did you buy the old app-activation that was required to lift the 1-minute playback restriction?
The reason I’m asking is that the Watch Pass option is only required for ~1 month to allow streaming remotely (there‘s no more 1-minute playback restriction in the current mobile apps).
What if I’ve already paid the one-time mobile app activation fee?
For users who have already paid a one-time, in-app activation for either our mobile Android or iOS app, an extended trial for the new Remote Watch Pass subscription is available. To make use of it, you need to:
- Start your Remote Watch Pass subscription through our mobile app.
- Make sure it is on the same mobile platform where the original purchase was made (e.g., iOS/iPadOS if your activation was through the App Store).
- Ensure you’re using the same app store account that made the original purchase (e.g., the same Apple ID).
Example: If you originally did a one-time activation of our iOS app, then you need to use our new mobile app on an iOS/iPadOS device to start a Remote Watch Pass billed through the App Store, while signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
What I bought was “IOS App Activation (enable streaming playback on IOS device)”, not the remote watch pass
That’s two separate things.
When Plex introduced the current „new experience“ app (released in early April), they removed the requirement to activate their mobile apps.
With that, you can use the mobile apps for free.
That is for all local streaming or streaming from a shared server if the owner has a Plex Pass membership.
If you want to stream from outside your home network, you’ll otherwise need a Watch Pass (as per your screenshots)
