Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.

Some things to try:

  • Ensure that “javascript” is enabled in the browser
  • Clear your browser’s cache/cookies/LocalStorage
  • Temporarily disable browser extensions/addons/plugins
  • Use a Private/Incognito browser window
  • Use a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.)
  • Use a different device (e.g. phone/tablet vs computer)
  • Test on a different network (e.g. 4G/LTE rather than WiFi)In rare cases, it could be a DNS issue. You could try switching to use a free service such as https://1.1.1.1/dns/, Google Public DNS (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/), or OpenDNS (https://www.opendns.com/setupguide/) as opposed to an ISP’s DNS.

If you tried it with multiple browsers or devices, check your router or firewall for filtering rules, which could block parts of the plex.tv websites.

Hi OttoKerner,

thanks for a quick response. I have the same issue.
Can’t link tv, also can’t sign in on plex.tv page. Tried it in different browsers. I don’t have any general network issues.
I have the same error in the console as OP.

I have tried on my smartphone, using chrome, i have cleared all my data, yes js is enable, using 4G with zero plugin… and it doens’t work.

I have the same problem here on a MacBook using both Safari and Chrome as OP.

The https://plex.tv/link page only shows the PLex logo and a black box.

The https://www.plex.tv loads but seems to be missing almost all content.

When I clear all browser cache, cookies etc, the Plex website loads normal, but as soon as I log in everything seems to be broken. I can only restore a working website by logging out and clearing all cache.

Cheers, Ivo

I have this same problem. The Plex authentication server seems to be down. Is there any way to get the message to their customer support so that they can fix it?

According to this page : https://status.plex.tv/, all server are up.

The status page is wrong. The Plex authentication server is down. They just haven’t figured that out yet.

got the same problems…
ive tried a computer witrh firefox and edge, my smartphone with edge, my LG tv with the build in Browser and several other things. With a new IP adress, clearing cache,…

The probleme is not on the user side, the problem is on the plex server side…

Same problem here. I linked my account many times with different TVs, but today, I can’t write the link code, because the web page seems not be completely loaded and doesn’t allow write it in the field…

Hello everyone. I have the same problem. I just got my new Nvidia Shield pro and I cannot link the device. I tried with Firefox, Edge and Chrome on my mobile phone with no luck. I was pulling my hairs out because I’ve done this a hundred times and I couldn’t figure out what was going on for the last hour.

I have the same issue. Cannot get code input form. Only blank black box appears.
Checked on
Macbook Pro and iPhone (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, incognito-mode).

This is sad, first time i am using Plex. Is auth server failed frequently ?

Same problem

Same issue and nothing suggested has worked

I was trying to add my brother as a user to my Plex Server and he can’t link his TV either, he is getting the same screen at the OP. I’ve also tried to do it from here by logging into his account on my PC but I get the same blank grey page. The authentication server is definitely down.

There is a bug on the link page where the app checks for an active Plex Pass subscription.

The link page loads correctly for accounts with a Plex Pass, but the JavaScript throws an error for accounts without a Plex Pass.

It is not only on the link page. The Plex webpage also seems to be completely broken when I log in.

I have the same problem. Plex.tv/link page not loading or just blank like the OP. I hope they fix this soon…
