I moved to new hardware some time ago and ever since I can't get Plex to work

Is the server still running from that attempt or have you restarted fresh since?

I haven’t restarted it

Start the server

Substitute here as appropriate.

curl ‘http://ip.addr.of.host:32400/identity

It will tell you if claimed

I have it running in docker right now, is it enough to restart the container? or do I need to reboot the whole machine?

restart the container

if you’re using docker, on a remote host, and not using “host” networking,
you’ll have the most difficult environment to setup in because it will be double-NAT right from the start.

Got the following respons:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<MediaContainer size="0" claimed="1" machineIdentifier="omitted" version="1.25.3.5409-f11334058">
</MediaContainer>

If that’s the case

  1. Sign out of Plex/web (upper right)
  2. open an incognito browser window
  3. In that new window - http://ip.addr.of.host:32400/web

It should prompt you with the “Got It” screen

Once accepted, the setup wizard will start.

It did not prompt me with any Got it screen

Are you in the setup wizard or dashboard?

I’m not in the setup wizard so I guess it’s the dashboard

pane down the left edge -
settings in the upper right corner with your avatar ?

That’s the dashboard

Yes, that’s where I’am

Good,

You should see the server name on the left .

As you hover over it with the mouse, a “+” will appear.

That’s where you add libraries (one shortcut)

The other is under Settings.

  1. Click settings (upper right)
  2. Down the left side see “Manage”
  3. “Libraries”

That’s the problem, the name doesn’t appear, if I click the plus it tells me to install the server. This is what I can see:

@ChuckPa any idea what the problem might be?

Let’s rewind to the basics?

  1. What’s the IP of the machine that’s running the container (say “REMOTE” if not in your home)

  2. What’s the IP of the machine you’re attempting to access the container from?

Funny thing, it just started working an hour ago. I didn’t do anything it just started working, though you fixed something before I read your reply.

I have not touched anything,

Alright don’t know what happened it just started working all of a sudden
