My question is how do I install a custom scanner + Agent

MyAnimeList Agent
BABs Scanner

My reasoning is simple Plex doesn’t really play well with Anime with the default scanner it barely ever finds art work and its a real pain

I did this in Freenas 9.10 using this guide

It made everything work smoothly, so would love to be able to do it again or see it in a new release of PMS
