Just thought I would bump this
The kids are starting to get to that stage where this would become VERY useful!
This is available on PLEX for Samsung. +1 vote!

Having a kid, this would be very helpful when playing children's shows which are quite short (sub 10min).
The Netflix version is pretty slick, it'd be easy enough to implement in PHT. +1
Kind of sad to see that this hasn't gotten any attention in two years even though it has over 100 likes. This would be great for binge watching a series/season.I almost see this feature request section as a section for pipe dreams, there are tons of wonderful ideas, some of them don't have a lot of support which I understand because why waste x amount of weeks/months on a feature that only a few people want, but when you have a considerable amount of **paying members** saying that they would like a feature to be implemented and the thread just sits there for years it doesn't give you much hope. A prime example is playlist support, something that should have been implemented a while ago, just got added a few weeks ago even though the thread for it has existed for over 1.5 years and has 448 likes.Â
I understand that coding these features takes a lot of work, I've taken classes for years in various languages but don't do it as a profession and don't really do it in my spare time either, but why say that you can help choose the direction that they go with Plex when they don't really listen? I feel some prioritization should be in order: add more basic features that users would love to see (grouping movie collections under a single icon like in XBMC), instead of constantly creating new clients for every new device that pops up. Yea it's awesome to have Plex on everything, I currently have it running on my desktop (PHT and PMS), Galaxy Note 3, Chromecast and Asus Cube; but they all have different interfaces (another thing that irks me, why can't the Chromecast app and Android tablet version look like PHT?), but it sucks that they all lack features of other clients such as XBMC.
I may not be understanding what you are asking, but the Roku client (at least RARFlix) does this. Â With continuous play enabled, if you start from a series page, then it will play the episodes sequentially. If you start it from the "On Deck" section, then it will play the videos in the "On Deck" section sequentially.
I'm guessing this is more of a client feature than a server feature.
@troycarpenter - yes, I think you're right on. Â I can do this on the Roku Client and through the web client but I can not on the Android, Windows Phone 8 or iPhone clients. Â I don't know enough about them yet but it is possible the upcoming "Play Queues", the prelude to "Playlists", may introduce the "Continuous Play" feature we're all asking for.

My use case is simple...my kids watch short videos in the back of the van. Â They're too small to navigate the client themselves so I want to be able to hit play and let it go without a 2.5 hour tantrum on our drive to the beach. :)
Yes +1. you could have home movies etc. in a folder and just set the lot going in the background at parties.

Quick client are you talking about ? A lot of them have it now.

Android PlexPass client, Win Phone 8 PlexPass client, iPhone Plex Pass client all lack the ability to play continuously.

iPhone (iOS) can do it using the shuffle and play queue feature, not sure about Android or Phone 8
The iPhone can also cast continuously to chromecast, I use it all the time for the kids tv shows.
+1 yes!
Can we have a developer at least explain why this 'feature' either isn't a priority or what technical difficulties it presents that make it more trouble than it's worth? It's very frustrating to see the team bang out things like photo sync and new android tv clients etc, when there are all these people who really want to use plex exclusively, but don't because it lacks some basic functionality (not to mention, its bad native format support and trigger happy transcoding...).
What's really upsetting is that recent releases of the Android App would play the next episode but people complained that it did because they couldn't shut it off and so the Devs removed it.
So there was no option to disable it? If that is the case I hope that the team doesnât now think that its a feature people are split on because itâs not. People just want the option.

Know Devs are aware people want it but are disabling it until the are finished with the Queue support on Android.
The V2 SDK didn't seem to work for them as it didn't have the code they need for Plex, but Google just announced (not sure they released it yet) a V3 SDK and API that has fleshed out MediaPlayer code support and added better Subtitle support as well.
I expect the Devs will look at that SDK when they get their hands on it (Maybe they have it already) and see if it solves some problems for them.
iOS doesn't use the SDK at all they merely have API files which they plug into their Development kit and can go from there...
And the feature is here! Thank you, Plex Now I just need my FireTV plex app to update!
Yes, I think this "next episode" feature would be a great benefit for Plex. I liked the first post to vote.
Does anybody know if this is a feature in plex home theater? Obviously there is a queue but can it not play next episode by default if queue is empty? If it exists i can't find it and am still desperate for it!

You can use the unwatched filter and then navigate to the show episode list, then use the left arrow key to display the play icon, this should do it although I have not used it for a while.
Edit: Just tried it now and worked fine for me.
