this would really usefell for me.
seems the most people dont have mini series? :D
We have them, but we choose not to use the same folder structure you do.
i have allot of anime in my liberay. that has a single seasson, so this really a must for me.

hehe. yes, 300 episodes. but only one season :D i know that^^.
Well, pretty much every BBC documentary is a mini series, and a lot of british TV. So I'd like this feature very much.

These documentaries could easily be handled as stacked parts of one item (if you wanted them to show up in a documentary section and use movie scrapers) or as episodes if you wanted them to show up as TV shows.
Personally, I tend to keep mini-series in TV only if they are pretty long and well-defined. For instance, John Adams is clearly a mini-series spanning quite a few episodes. A two-part documentary I would probably much more likely store under a more general movie section.

If I am not wrong, stacked parts have a maximum of 9 files. I can't stack more than 9 files even if I name them as Part01, Part02...e.g.

Hence the reason most 3-part series are more akin to movies than tv series. A two-part mini-series has everything in common with a movie, while a 10-part series is much more like a tv season.
If my suggestion were implemented, any single-season show would be flattened into one list of episodes without the season level. This works for shows of one season as well as it would for mini-series.
since there aren't much mini-series out there, i think the easiest way would be a simple button to manually "Mark this Series as a Mini-Series" ...
but anyway, whatever the solution is - it's easy to implement .. so please plex dev's :(
Just wondering, what would be the point of marking something a mini-series? Is it so you can filter out for these?
Its so they can skip hitting select one more time. If there is only one season they want to go directly to the episodes after picking the showJust wondering, what would be the point of marking something a mini-series? Is it so you can filter out for these?
Lol. I doubt this will make it anywhere near the top of their to do list.
It has already been mentioned in another thread. The seemingly intelligent thing to do is skip the season view whenever there is only one season present. This would cover the cases both for mini-series and shows where only one season is present.
True, but the coding is not trivial to accomplish that.

i doubt it's more than one line
No, because the way it works, the clients request the show info from PMS. PMS response with the show info and the list of season. To interpret if there is only 1 season, PMS would need to read the season count first before responding, then signal to the client that there is only 1 season, at which point the client would then ask for the season list. PMS just can't send back the season info when the client is expecting show info. It may be possible to do this all on the client end.

It is possible to do this all on the client end. It just has to be implemented in all clients if it is to be consistent.
I do not see why not. When the client receives the info for the show, it just needs to check how many seasons there are, and if there is 1, automatically send the request to get the episode list for that season.
