@SambaDrome Better sleep on it. Most people come back for the UIX and experience of Plex after they have added a feature or fixed a bug that they felt was missing. It happened to me, too.

I’m pretty sure that @samdadrome was saying he is already back. But just not to PMP, but to Plex for Kodi.
If that’s what he is saying then I can’t fault him.
The first time I have used a freshly released Plex client that just worked out of the box.
+1 would love this for all franchises like marvel/dc/harry potter
For all the time they put in on other things, having collections to be recognized either genre, studio, or series determined by the users file directory, and each file poster to be picked by the user. That would seem to be easy to create and not take a lot of time.
But it’s just like everything else, people come up with a good thing and the cheat on the little things that would make it great.
I had this feature in Emby, and would love to see it in Plex. This is the one feature I miss most after switching to Plex.
+1 I want this feature too.
And please make the collections serverwide and search-aware, or at least an option for it for the server owner.

This should be an option for all users of the server and not just the owner. Search for Star Wars or James Bond by any user should show all of the movies that have the collection tag that matches.

I meant creating the collection, not searching for it. I don’t care for any of the collections of my users and don’t want to see them in my searches. But as an owner, I’d like to create serverwide collections (e.g. “Star Wars”) for all the users of my server which should be included in their searches.
Looks like the request has fallen on deaf ears…
i want collections in my complete list of movies included too. Please give us a update

You’re new around here. It’s pretty rare that they give any kind of update.

Rare? How about non-existent. The only way we know anyone has been working on anything is we see it in Announcements or get something in an email. Everything Plex does is based on an internal Road Map ™ and nothing is ever released about what’s on it, who’s working on what, time frames, etc. This is all highly secretive. Even though the competition has had the feature for a couple of years or more… (Not like they can’t come and see the Feature Requests we have here…)
There is seldom any questions From the Plex Team about what we want to see, or how the feature should work, look, etc. That is usually reserved for when there are over-whelming complaints. (Horizontal scrolling on various apps, instead of Vertical is a prime example of this…)
There is a bright spot in all of this as it pertains to Collections. Even @elan wasn’t as aware of the popularity of the requests (There are actually a couple of them now.) and it may get some development time as a result. Don’t hold your breath though…
@MikeG6.5 Well, I really see your point, but dear Mike, you are whining all the time about Plex not listening to their customers… it is always the same and it goes on like lalalalalala…
deleted a remark about “us”… writing a new one with “me”
I have nothing to do with Plex other than using it and being Lifetime Plex pass user. But these always repeating statements with this negative attitude get increasingly boring to ME.
You may have done good things to this community during times… you even may have had good ideas… (as well as some bad ones). But simply do not insist somebody else (especially from Plex) should constantly listen to your dilemma.
I also want collections made better- Evan @elan wants that. Period. Please step back not from posting but from showing this negative attitude whenever you are posting.
I guess everbody else got what you want to say at this time already. No sense in endlessly repeating yourself.
Thank you.

I’ve seen @elan hint at things to come, the DVR forum often says they’ve fixed something but they have to wait until they roll it back into the general updates. It’s not never, but I bet you could count on one hand each year comes around how often it happens.
They are even starting these roundtables to get ideas and discuss things through video chat.
You can learn a lot about the direction they are wanting to go and really consider different ideas. Plex can already put movies into collections if you use Plex Movie( and check the box for collections) as one of the agents It can group movies like (Bond, Iron man, Hunger games, etc…) but will not group like Marvels universe and the like. Elan mentioned they would look into something different when they got together this month ( if you watch the Roundtables).

I’ve taken part in two of the three roundtables. (Only the last one I was in was recorded.)

@elan is talking about something with the next release.
That wasn’t in response to existing Feature Requests, but rather in response to a bug in the code. We have gotten those from time to time. Apples and oranges.
