I signed up for a month as I thought this was what they meant by multi-user stuff. So far I can't see any benefit from having paid for plex over what I was getting for free. I'm sharing certain libraries with my son exactly the same as before.
So yes, big +1 for this. Would definitely keep me paying for it.

Currently the big difference with paid version is multi-user watched status and on deck , without it a common watched status and on deck is updated, but I agree the home screen for shared user needs to be improved.

Gotcha. Sadly that's irrelevant for my situation. I have one server with 4 sections adults tv and movies and kids tv and movies. Just want to share the kids stuff to my sons accounts, shame they have to go specifically to the shared librariies to get to it. Would be nice if it was like they had their own servers running.
Going to investigate running multiple servers in VMs and a convoluted NFS setup sharing certain shows n movie directories to each one depending on what it is they want in their library.
Giving me a headache just thinking about it :D
Thanks for clarifying the plexpass stuff. I'll hold out on paying any more for it for now...
+1 My whole family shares my PMS via the Internet. This whole system is amazing. But some of my relatives are tech challenged, and allowing my server to be their default, especially since they don't have a server would be amazing.
Honestly don't know why shared libraries need separate section to begin with. Plex could easily just display who's server it is below the library name.

I'd say it would preferably have to rather than could do. Rarflix for roku does display all this on the ondeck etc but it does get confusing when you share multiple servers with the same media. You have the same film/episode showing multiple entries on the homepage and it doesn't tell you which file belongs to which server. If this was implemented then showing which server would be awesome.
A different way of stating this request is something I was discussing last night: it would be nice if the various libraries connected to your account published to the dashboard you are using on your device such that all the content is consolidated into a single view. Within this you could configure the precidence of content (My library, quality, etc.) such that you have a single view across all of the media available to you. From there each of the dashboard widgets can retrieve its content. (Perhaps this information is cached on the plex server you are logged into, and the shared libraries push a notice to you that something on them has changed so that you're not having the overhead of refreshing that information on an ongoing basis.)
In the latest build if you go under configuration under the "user" tab you can add an "existing Plex user" or "managed user", who can have libraries shared directly to them.
So I've setup my Plex server and logged in with my Plex account and setup a number of folders (Music/Films/etc..), I go into settings and add my girlfriends Plex account as an existing Plex user and I agree to share all my folders with her.
When my girlfriend opens Plex from her Andriod phone those shared folders list themselves at the top and not as shared libraries but libraries she has added. If I add something to those libraries under my account they appear on hers, however our watch lists are kept separately as is the On Deck, etc..
We then have a managed user "house" for our shared interest watching, the Roku is setup to default to this user.
