number 1 on my wish list, I am not really fussed how its done, whether my server is running 100% or not, I just want to be able to view my content offline when traveling to work.
Personally I find the way klexi does it is fine, yes its not perfect but its better than nothing or doing it the itunes way.
this is really also my number one of my whish list, i really appreciate if this feature will be implemented soon (for android here ;-))

+1 here too, this is one of the key things that would greatly improve Plex. Unfortunately quality internet access to my home library is not available everywhere in the world 
Would love to be able to sync a set of series, movies (as I do with music in Spotify) before going on a trip.
Would love to have this feature. This would make vacations a lot more fun.
This would be great. But i want to be able to sync with my laptop sense i do not have an Ipad or Android tablet.
