[Implemented] Search should be case and diacritics insensitive

Searching currently on Plex Media Server is both case and diacritics sensitive. This is a disaster for languages containing Hi-Asciis (like Greek), as the query has to be typed in the exact case and diacritics combo to bring a result. Here is an example of the Expected and Actual Results:

Searching for 'αλικη'

Expected Results: "Αλικη" - "Αλίκη" - "αλίκη" - "αλικη" - "ΑΛΙΚΗ"

Actual results: "αλικη"

To add to this.... this also affects purely english speaking users...

e.g. Search for: mission impossible

Zero results.

Search for: mission: impossible

Finds the 4 movies.

You should not have to add the colon in mission: to search for the movies.

Possibly another related issue - search doesn't find part of a title enclosed in brackets or parentheses ( )

example - in Canada, the movie "What If" is usually called "The F Word" - the original title.  I edited the title to be What If (The F Word)

Searching for "the F Word" gets no results.  It will find the "the F Word" if the title is changed to What If ( The F Word ) - that is, a space before and after the alternate title enclosed in the brackets.

What developers are thinking about it?
Is there any plans to fix the issue dated ‘December 2014’?

Is there any progress on this issue?

Plex doesn’t discuss their schedule or plans.

More than 4 years passed, but the developers have not corrected the search in languages other than Cyrillic!
Bug with the search is still present.
But the music was added and uploaded photos!

Can’t understand, why this bug still not fixed!

I have the same problem. The search works in a case-sensitive mode.

Plex Team, why you ignore this problem? I think it is not hard work to fix it.

Reported the bug again. Fingers crossed.

I think this bug will never be fixed. They are racists, they hate us, Russians, and people using Cyrillic, there is no more objective reasons to keep this bug for so long. They want us to suffer, they are racists!
