[Implemented] Server-Side Speed Limits/Caps for Shared/Subscribed Users

+1 absolutely needed

+1 not only limit upload and quality also limit amount of concurrent users

1+ I just posted the same feature request. Ideally we should be able to allocate both bandwidth and processor utilization to users.

Having read through this post, it seems that some people could also benefit from related option per added friend/ user, to restrict access to media via the local network only (avoiding any strain on upload bandwidth, cpu usage for transcoding, and preventing multiple users from accessing media simultaneously).  Hopefully I'm not violating a Plex forum rule by sharing this request which can be found via the link below.

I feel it is related, and would be a basic element of a more comprehensive update to include server-side bandwidth control as has been well described by earlier posts here. Please feel free to check it out via the link, and "like" it, if you like it!

+1 For this feature request. Would be very nice.

What would even be better, although i really don't know if that's possible, if that I would be able to control the maximum bitrate for all users.

So if 1 user is watching, cap the stream to 8Mbps. If a second one is starting a stream remotely, then 4 Mbps each. A third user would mean ~2,5 Mbps for all three. So if more users connect at the same time, then quality is decreasing for all, but would still be stutter-free for all.

Yes, please!  +1

Per user bandwidth rate cap and a number-of-concurrent-streams per user cap would be ace.

Just came on the forum to check this feature had already been requested.

Could really do with a better log or info screen of what users are actually watching/have been watching (along with quality details).

Is there currently a way to find out what quality other users selected?

I can ask them if to use 1.5Mbps or less; but would prefer to see what they actually selected and kick those who don't comply.

If you're using PlexWatch (and easier to read if you're also using PlexWatchWeb) then you can check in the history.

+1 from me as well.  The ability to limit a remote user's bitrate would be very nice to have.

The best way to guarantee a feature is ignored is to vote for it here. Go vote for some new skins or something, maybe they'll stop reworking the UI randomly and work on some admin features.

+1 for the feature!

+1 to hitting the like button on the OP's first post.

there are quite a few that haven't.
