+1 This would be an extremely welcomed feature to an already great application!
Over the space of 2 years, we now have 12 pages at 20 messages/page containing, essentially:

Thatâs 240 upvotes for being able to make a playlist that other users of the same library can see.
I paid for plexpass precisely so I could help fund development in order to get features like this.
So, plex⊠would you care to take the hint already?
An absolute must +1
Especially with so many paying customers requesting it.
Thank you.
+1 sorry about the duplicate request

Not arguing against your point, but, as mentioned in this thread and this thread, voting is not achieved with +1 posts.
Thereâs 682 actual +1/like votes on the OP however.
Truthfully this kind of feature voting hidden in a forum system is pretty terrible.
Hereâs a good one: http://ideas.goldenfrog.com/forums/171209-golden-frog-ideas/filters/top
This ticket/vote is a mess. It a generic request for any device you can sync with. It was implemented for iOS last year (link). Then the forum itself was switched which caused all the votes to disappear (link)
Just a mess.
At least, the votes were reset a month before the iOS release, so most of the current vote count could be associated with Android, I think.

I donât use Apple/iOS, are you sure it doesnât mean syncing in the sense of downloading a playlist to the phone? I mean that is half of it but not sharing.

So, this is the link to the press release for the ânew iOS appâ last August (which is eventually linked in if you follow the first link in my comment above).

There a mention of âSync V2â. Itâs under the last section which talks about Mobile Sync. And, it says âLast, but definitely not least, you can sync playlists.â

Right. I did follow the link and read that. My question remains though - in what capacity?
It could simply mean being able to have a playlist be downloaded to your device (which is cool) but I think the bulk of this request is being able to sync playlists across accounts ie share the same list automatically with others.

@kev.lee.wright - thereâs 688 likes to the first page (requests for this feature), so youâre off by a factor of 2.8x
@beckfield, you may not be arguing, but I am. Itâs ridiculous this feature hasnât been implemented. Itâs equally ridiculous to point out to the masses âthatâs not how to voteâ. While +1ing posts may not be the right way to deal with it, the user community needs a way to express themselves other than a silent vote. This is an unresolved issue that Plex development appears to be ignoring. 59% of Americans would switch products over a negative customer experience. If 4% of consumers voice feedback to the companies they support, that means approximately 17,000 people want this feature. That does not include all the people that canât vote. Assuming 2.5 people per American household, thatâs over 40K Plex end users that would take advantage of this feature. Note: I assumed all 688 likes were in the USA. May be a bad assumption on my part, but I think this feature is universally usable, eliminating any error in my estimates.
The Plex development team better get in gear, or what market share they have will erode, putting them out of business. Not just over the lack of sharable playlists, but their inability to listen to their customer base.

@blissfool - nope - this is a request to allow playlists to be shared between plex users on the same system. Syncing should be a function of the client making a list of songs to download/transcode based on the playlist. Not much different that syncing an album/artist. E.g. I create a playlist called âHandelâ and allow the other users on my personal plex system to be able to access the playlist.

Out of curiosity, would a single option to share all playlists work, vs a more granular method (similar to the âAllow channelsâ option?

That would go a long way for me. Certainly wouldnât mind waiting so much for the enhanced sharing if that was an option.
It would be a little better on a per-user basis like the âAllow channelsâ option. Better yet, on a per playlist though I can see that being quite a bit of work.

I guess it would be a start, for sure, if thatâs easier to implement.
That said, I think more people want âsyncâ than âshareâ.

This would work for me to begin with as all Iâm wanting to do at this point is share playlists between my managed users.
Thought of it some more⊠if a managed user creates a lot of playlists, Iâm not sure I want to see all of them. I especially think OTHER managed users donât want to see them⊠so no, not really an option to use for me.
I am a newbie to Plex but have already run into this need. Some in my family circle have very similar tastes and after 2 weeks of use we have created many duplicate playlists. So if this is the way to vote for a feature then count my vote as a YES.

Posting != voting. You need to Like/+1 the first post in this thread: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/117485/sync-and-share-playlists/p1

I will say this is not okay. I want have my own playlist which syncs just for me. And, another playlist which I can have sync with specific people. For example, I would not want to sync my morning commute playlist with my wife and take up space on her device unnecessarily, and have playlist intended for me and my wife to be synced with my kids.
To be clear, as âKarlDagâ mentioned, this is to share AND sync the playlist and not just share the playlist. So, in the the context of this feature request, the option you mentioned would sync all playlist and the content of the playlist that the person doesnât like would sit there and take up space unnecessarily. (Correct me if Iâm wrong on this ⊠may be you still need to manually initiate sync on the device after the playlist is shared?)
