Maybe even being able to share playlist?
Hello,
It will be great if Plex could manage playlist.
It will be mostly usefull for music. Allowing us to use Plex to really manage our music (no more needing iTunes, or Google music if it works in the new web client)

Also It will be great if we could share playlist via myPlex. This way our friends could access the subset of media we selected for them instead of the whole library.

Exactly what I have been asking for and wanting. 1000+. I have 7 different households currently on my server and I get asked that constantly. The clients should be capable of creating and manipulating the playlists.

Yes same issue here.
Before when there were only the Desktop client it would have been complicated to create them but now with this awesome web manager/client it could be possible :)

Thing that ■■■■■ me most about iTunes and iOS is that I can’t make a playlist from my entire library when I’ve got time to do so (on the train on my way to work) I really CBF spending time doing this at home.

Plex supports still not m3u and pls playlist. Is that correct?

Well, not only useful for music. A video playlist with the episodes of the Stargate franchise in chronological order is for example something I would like. (If someone is interested: http://pastehtml.com/view/bh3jeyr98.rtxt )

Video playlists should support both manual and smart playlists.

+10 Internets for this. Once a music library gets to a certain size, it becomes onerous and unwieldy to use. When our music becomes onerous and unwieldy, we get frustrated and drown our sorrows with alcohol. When we drown our sorrows with alcohol, we sleep through our alarms and arrive late to work.



Don’t make us late to work. Give us playlists.



Just sayin’.

I’d love some kind of playlist function. I find when I use Plex casually of an evening I put on a show and then notice an hour later I let the 20min show finish and didn’t cue up something else because I ended up pottering on the computer or whatever. I’d like to be able to set up an evening’s worth of viewing from recent downloads etc and plugging the gaps with old classics I’ve got stored. If I could do this I reckon I’d retire from broadcast TV entirely.

Thanks for this post. I just voted for it. I don't use iTunes and so I'm really missing playlist functionality.

How this one is the current status of the Playlists, a play cunning like M3U or PLS is planned and there is one realization date?

My wife wants to be able to make a playlist of kids TV shows and just hit play. Something easy and obvious to use would be wonderful.
