Improved EPG data for Australia

@DaveBinM OK Thanks for the update. I just found another show it did it with. ‘Mad as Hell’.

@DaveBinM Understood about the matching part.Be great if you could match the tv show to the counterpart tvdb manually to avoid the matching mistakes.

@DaveBinM I have already made a separate thread. Can this be looked into?

thanks

So far so good! Better than the IceTV xmltv feed I was paying for.

@SHOCKWAVE I’ll look into it.

Early Thursday evening I could see the Arsenal vs SydneyFC and Arsenal vs WSW matches listed in the guide. I set both to be recorded. Thursday night’s AvSFC recorded fine. Got home Sunday night to find no sign of AvWSW. Looking through Agenda View, I can’t see it listed there at all. There’s a lot of hits in the logs when I search for “Arsenal”, they all same to be the same message that gets generated when a show has no upcoming shows.

What happened? Is there a way to know if it was in the guide and then removed from the guide? I see nothing happening in the logs at about the time it should have been starting.

The show I had set to be recorded earlier that day (3pm-5pm, with AvWSW starting from 7:30pm) recorded without a problem.

At the moment I don’t seem to have any sports category at all either, but if I search for shows known to be upcoming I can still find them.

@BastardSheep So is it seeing them all as one show/episode and since it was recorded already is ignoring the new game.

@BastardSheep Can you split that out into a separate thread please? That sounds like a scheduling issue, rather than a guide issue.

The really need to work on the New Airing/Repeat Airing categorisation - Landline, Four Corners, Media Watch, Foreign Correspondent are a few things I record and Repeat Airings are marked as New. Using the Advanced->Limit to Airing Time setting doesn’t work for me either, as Plex seems to be looking for an exact match on the airing time that you select, rather than a +/- 5/10 minute interval

Hello,

Just some feedback for Gracenote. I’m in Newcastle NSW. All the channels now line up except for channel 50 (which is the Equivalent of ONE in Metro), which in the Gracenote listing is designated as ONE Adelaide, not Newcastle. This means all recordings on this channel start a half hour later than the program start time.

Could someone feed this back to Gracenote for us?

Many Thanks

@Stephen3001 Thanks for the report, I’ll pass it along!

@DaveBinM 95 and 33 get mapped to different states too. (Extra and Food Network)

@SHOCKWAVE @Stephen3001 @BastardSheep @ZanS

I’m not sure if you’ve all seen it yet, but there’s a new form where you can report EPG issues directly to Plex, and they can file with Gracenote. You can find the post here: https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/281569/reporting-gracenote-epg-data-issues#latest

The more stuff you feedback, the better the guide will get (hopefully!), so please fill it out with anything you notice.

Awesome, thanks.

Great. That’s a good start to the issues. Thanks @DaveBinM

I’ve filled my first submission to the Gracenote form. The entire channel ten HD program guide here in Melbourne Australia was missing again all of a sudden today. All other channels seemed ok.

This seems to happen regularly where certain channels don’t seem to update regularly.

Keep putting in submissions guys but I don’t know how seriously they’re taken.

Anyone notice the Australian guide data has gone to the dogs again?

Despite having the option ticked for “more regular EPG updates” the recording schedule doesn’t get updated and looking at tonight’s showing some channels (e.g. The Project on Channel Ten) are non existent in both the program guide and recording schedule.

Refreshing the EPG manually doesn’t seem to add anything more either.

This is a bit beyond a joke now 12 months after the release of this feature. Completely and UTERLY UNRELIABLE for any DVR function.

A whole lot of the EPG issues could be mitigated by simply providing time and channel recording, which has been requested pretty much from day 1 if I recall. Should be trivial to implement at the UI level you’d think given it has to be that behind the scenes at some point. IceTV XML is the only reliable method still it seems, which I’ve found has few issues and they are very responsive to resolve anything that is the EPG’s fault.
