I’m fine with Plex. It certainly has its rough spots, missing features, and other frustrations, and I’m sure @elan will agree that I’m fairly vocal about them 
, but I’ve never found anything to rival it. Emby and Jellyfin have features that I wish Plex had, but they also lack a lot of things that Plex has. If one of them works better for you, then that’s what you should do.
The problem of Various Artist albums not appearing in each artist’s detail page is one such issue (and one of my top five). It seems to me the “Appears On” feature that Elan mentioned solves that. I’m not sure why you don’t think so – it’s actually part of my biggest feature request, and it gives me hope that it will be coming to the other Plex apps. Until it does, I can find artists that appear on VA albums via Search. Not the ideal, but it works well enough for me, for now.
For the record, I followed the password reset/reclaim server process with no issues. Not to say there aren’t legitimate causes for some of the problems others are having, but I’d be willing to bet a fair amount of them are just the result of not following the whole process.
