Currently only the episode year is displayed in the Apple TV player info (‘swipe down for info’), which makes sense for movies, but for regular TV shows, especially for talk shows and currently airing programs, the date/day of the week would be very helpful.
For example, when catching up on a show it helps to know how close to today’s date you are. Likewise, watching daily talk shows and being a couple behind, it’s helpful knowing whether this is Thursday’s or Friday’s show, letting you know it’s the last show of the week.
