Inconsistencies with Plexamp casting device availability and Home users

I have 4 accounts in Plex Home. My user is “Home Admin”, 1 user is a managed account, and the other 2 are my family members’ Plex accounts.

If I try to cast from Plexamp Android using my account, I see cast-enabled devices and a list of available Plex instances. When I switch accounts to either the managed account or a family member account, I only see the cast-enabled devices.

On Plexamp Windows using my account, I see only the list of available Plex instances (no Cast-Enabled devices). When I switch accounts, I can see one of the available Plex instances!?

All of the devices in question we upgraded to Plexamp 4.6.0 before performing this test. I get the same result even when changing the user on the remote Plexamp instances to match the user on the host I am intending to cast from. Closing and opening the app or device reboots were performed after changing the user.

For now, I’m only interested in two Plexamp instances being available to all accounts/devices:

  • Garage Plexamp – Old android phone
  • Kitchen Plexamp – Headless Rpi3

Is there a way to make these available to all accounts this without involving any user switching?

Making remote control work better for multiuser is on our roadmap, we’ll definitely address.
