Indirect Connection through my server whenever I'm streaming from an outside connection

I was at my friend’s place who has access through my Plex server and whenever we watch, we keep getting indirection connection that limits streaming in both audio and video quality. Is there a way to fix this?

thank you for the link, but this is a lot of information and I am not amazing in this. Can someone help me break it down?

Just go through the page from top to bottom. Take plenty of time.
Or make some screenshots of your Plex - Server Settings - Remote Access page and post them here.
We can go from there.

My home access is fine, it’s whenever I stream from another place that’s an issue. Often times, the server won’t show up or become “indirect”. It’s very confusing.

Very often it has to do with the ISP of those other people. Or more precisely, with the DNS server which the ISP is giving its customers.

I have seen many instances where switching to a different DNS server cured access to remote Plex servers.
Switch the ‘DNS server’ setting from ‘automatically assigned’ to ‘manual’ and then put in the address 8.8.8.8

This is something which each person you share with has to do on their own router. There is nothing you can do on your side.

This is for home networks.

If you are using public WiFi access points instead, there is nothing you can do. These often filter out access to Plex.
