Plex server shows "indirect connection"

Server Version#: latest
Player Version#: latest
Hello,
using plex server in docker (debian 12). Everything worked fine. Some days ago we moved to new house with new ISP so we have new public IP now.
Plex doesn’t work fine.

have port 32400 forwarded, checked it with canyouseeme.org too.

If I go to local IP of server, so http://192.168.x.x:32400/web

  • plex shows server is accessible from outside network
  • everything seems work fine

If I go to app.plex.tv/desktop (in computer)

  • my server shows indirect connection.

Tried to run movie in our TCL TV. Quality of FullHD movie is horrible, can’t change it to “Original” or 1920p.

Any idea what can I check please?

As I wrote, it worked fine in old house. Everything is connected with the same schema, router is the same with same configuration. Only 1 change in our network is new public IP address.

Thank you

The indirect connection implies there’s a problem with your remote access setup. That being said… you might want to review your network setup and the container config as for why Plex considers that connection remote in the first place (this can e.g. happen if your container establishes its own subnet inside your home network).

The remote access troubleshooting might be a good starting point.
Check if the new ISP is giving you a publicly routable IPv4 address.

Hi @tom80H ,
today it started work fine again. Had a problem with NAT in my router.
Thank you.

Hi
Could you share what exactly the NAT issue was so that might help others.

Thank you
