I was wondering: Will it help my speed/not buffering if I install the Plex Media Server on an empty external hard drive? I suffer from a lot of buffering on certain titles, and it’s really annoying.
No… don’t move the PMS installation off your C:\ drive – that’ll only create more confusion for Plex.
Buffering is related to poor network bandwidth/stability or not enough CPU power to handle a transcode on your server.
