It would be neat to integrate other streaming services into Plex. Things like Discovery plus. They could be on a new tab.
Plex have recently commented on a number of feature suggestions asking for specific services to be integrated. TL;DR: loads of legal and licensing obstacles which are often outside Plex’ control and little to no support from those providers (as most aren’t keen on having their services integrated into another provider’s service) making this complicated
while I appreciate Plex’s position, and their reluctance to draw the wrath of Netflix, Disney et al, I also think it’s the (long overdue) next step we’re all waiting on. Someone is going to do it.
Justwatch can create a library based on selected streaming services, as well as actually linking to the media in the applicable application. so surely it’s possible to create dummy files which link to streaming sites in the same way - even if it’s not officially endorsed by Plex. the other (I feel inevitable) solution would be justwatch finding a way to sync a plex library and incorporating that into its own search.
