I’m sure this has been mentioned before, but given the rise of Google Play, Itunes etc The idea of having to rip a bluray to get it into plex is getting a bit old.
I love Plex UI and the customization of my Library etc ( Love the collections feature BTW), but as I buy more movies digitally I want to integrate them into a consolidated library. There’s no MoviesAnywhere in the UK but even if there was google and itunes interfaces aren’t as good.
So I’d like to integrate at least one of the digital lockers(and they will therefore get my business) into plex. Even if Plex cant play it directly, it could launch their app and play it. I think this is what Apple TV is aiming to do, and apple are opening up their walled Garden so they might allow it.
I’d also Add I’m 100% legal(well I own all the content I have on Plex) and it annoys me that ripping a bluray or stripping drm for itunes are the only ways I can get content into plex - both of which are… well violations of T&C’s if nothing else.(lets not even mention the other way). If plex is to survive long term, isnt this the future ?
TBH I’m amazed (but happy) the TV companies and Apple etc allow Plex App given where the content comes from.
But the future is surely integrating all sources of media into one library. I dont want to pay anyone to get my existing rips into the cloud,(like walmart did in the us) I want plex to integrate them no matter where they come from. If plex could do this, it wouldnt matter that MoviesAnywhere isnt really anywhere, just the US becasue plex would replace it.
What do you think , Too Hard to Negotiate ?
