Intel NUC or Nvidia Shield Pro as PMS

Hi all,

Looking for some recommendations.
I currently run PMS on an Xpenology (Synology) NAS type system, but as per typical NAS setups it’s lacking for transcoding.
As such I figured I’d keep the NAS for the file storage and all NASy things, but look to get a new hardware host for PMS.
It seems the best would be Nvidia Shield Pro, or an Intel NUC box?
Any recommendations of one over the other, or any other suggestions?
The NSP is favourable at the moment since it could be used as PMS and client for the main TV, (other TVs tend to be smaller, stereo, and running via Chromecast.

NUC all day. Get an NUC8i5BEH
