First of all, I’m sincerely apologizing if I didn’t post my question in the right part of the forum, this is my first post here tbh.
I’m very interested in that new features from Plex called TV & DVR, but before purchasing the Plex Pass to start using it I would like to ask a few questions. I hope someone will be prepared to help me out with this because honestly, I don’t get enough information on Plex sites.
We live in Slovenia, and currently, we have a package of TV, internet and phone from our local provider called KDS Črna, who is getting the signal from a provider called KRS Selnica.
Because this whole package is pretty expensive (about 60€/month) even without much of extra programs and some better/stronger internet connections, I have started to think about the new Plex feature TV & DVR, as I found it out recently.
As I mentioned this provider have cable signal so we don’t have any external boxes/tuners like some other providers are using.
So now I would like to ask, if we would like to start using Plex as a source for live TV at home, do we still need to stay with our current TV provider to be able to use Plex TV, or we could then “cut it off”, and still use all of the programs that are available in our country by just having Plex TV?
I saw that for Slovenia, Plex is already offering two options connections. One is OTA option via so called “Free DTT Slovenia” (which doesn’t offer many programs), and second option is a cable option via so called provider “Telemach” (which does offer a lot of programs).
But I hope this doesn’t mean that we should be using Telemach now, because unfortunately for our part of the country this is not possible, as our village is covered by cable TV provider KDS Črna, as mentioned above.
And also let me mention, that we have 3 TVs at home.
Two of them are Samsung SmartTVs - one 2013 model with SmartHub, and other 2014 model with Tizen, and they are both already running Plex for streaming from PC. The other one is some Toshiba none-SmartTV.
Plus of course a few mobile phones and an iPad.
Is it possible to watch live TV programs, DVR, as well as other Plex Pass features, on all of these devices by just having one Plex Pass license?
I would be really grateful if somebody could please help me out and answer my questions so that we could decide if we would start using Plex TV.
