Hey everyone! Got a new feature to announce. LISTS!
Lists is a new feature in Plex that allows you to create, manage, and share personalized lists of any title available on Plex. That means: movies, TV shows, and episodes - all in one place, all on Lists. This is now available on watch.plex, mobile devices, and Roku devices! ![]()
What’s New

Create New Lists: Easily start a new list from scratch.
-
Add Items: Search and add media content (e.g., movies, shows, episodes) to your lists.

Edit and Organize: Rename your lists, reorder items, and remove content as needed.
-
Duplicate lists: Quickly copy any of your lists (or others’ public lists) and edit them however you like.

Anyone signed into Plex: Only those signed into their Plex account will see the list
-
Friends of Friends: Visible to friends of friends on Plex
-
Friends Only: Visible only to those you are friends with on Plex
-
Private: Lists will only be visible to you

FAQs
Q: How does this work with my Watchlist, Playlists, and Collections?
A: Lists, your watchlist, playlists and collections all can work alongside each other. Each one serves a specific purpose at the moment. ~ Imagine ~ you can now add titles to your own custom made 80’s Horror Flicks List to share with your friends. Add the recently announced movie or show you want to see to your Watchlist and be notified when it’s released on any streaming platform. Curate the best Playlist of 90’s sitcoms to work or fall asleep to. Organize your Star Wars Collection to have the best order and show it off in your library. Quite literally, you can do whatever you want now. Go crazy.

Q: How will Lists affect my existing playlists, collections, and my Watchlist?
A: They won’t. Lists is a new feature that simply offers you a new way to curate and organize movies, shows, and episodes. It won’t affect anything on your servers or on your existing lists (Playlists, Collections, or Watchlist). Refer to the above table for more details on how Lists fits into the existing list universe on Plex.
Q: What can be added to a List?
A: Only titles that are found on Plex and Discover can be added to a List. Learn more here: https://support.plex.tv/articles/universal-watchlist/
Q: Where is List data stored?
A: On Plex infrastructure/cloud.
Q: Where can I find List privacy settings?
A: Lists don’t have an overarching privacy setting. Rather, you can adjust the privacy/visibility setting of each individual List you create. Individual List settings follow existing Plex privacy settings and can be set when you create a list (at the top under List name and description). These individual list settings can be changed at any time.
Q: Where can I find other people’s Lists?
A: If you’re able to see others’ lists (dependent on the lists’ visibility settings), you will be able to see them on the Activity Feed if someone in your network has created a list. You can also find others’ lists by visiting their user profiles (under “Lists”).
Q: If I make my List public, where else is it visible?
A: Lists themselves are not searchable at the moment, so unless your public list is shared off-platform, it will only be visible to others on the Activity Feed and Profile pages on Plex.
Q: Can Managed Users create, view, share or have Lists shared to them?
A: At this time, Managed Users have no capabilities when it comes to Lists. This is a limitation that we would like to improve in the future.
Q: I have other questions about Lists.
A: Ask the questions! Or check out our Support Article to see if this helps to answer your questions.
