iOS app uses a lot of background activity

Since the most recent update the Plex iOS app uses a lot of background activity. On my phone it used 11h in the last 24h of background activity and is draining my battery pretty quickly - I noticed it pretty quickly and force shut the app otherwise it probably would use 24h in that same period.
What exactly is the newest update doing?!

Please fix that

Has nobody noticed this or am I the only one?

@chaosmaker not just you - I have the same issue: used the Plex iPad app for 5 minutes this morning, left iPad unused for most of day, and now see that Plex has used 34% of the battery

Yes that is exactly what I am seeing. And if you click that it will show that Plex ran in the background for a stupid amount of time, even though it wasn’t active (i.e. playing Audio in the background). Apparently only being in the background open uses lots of battery and in my case heats up the iphone without reason…
