iOS plex app will not cast music to Sonos

Whenever I try to play music on Sonos using the plex iPhone app it just doesn’t work. It looks like it’s connected but playback freezes and the play button in the app is just unresponsive.

There is no error message from the iOS Plex app. The playback function is just unresponsive. The rest of the app navigation is ok.

When I go to the Sonos app to see what’s going on, the album and track title shows but the attached error message is displayed within the Sonos app.
