iOS Spatial Audio integration in app

Apple have recently introduced an upgrade to iOS and AirPods Pro / AirPods max called spatial audio. When watching content on an iOS device (and using the AirPods mentioned above), spatial audio can be switched on (where the streaming app is compatible) to recreate surround sound through the AirPods.

Spatial audio works with content holding 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos audio files (which all of my Plex content does)

Having tried it, it’s pretty good. Currently, only apps such as Apple TV+ (obviously), Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu support. It would be superb if the Plex iOS app could be updated to support this as well given that if I’m watching on my iPad, 99% of the time I have my headphones in (id be watching on the tv otherwise).

Cheers
