I’ve seen that Plex’s now testing Spatial Audio through TestFlight. I’d love to be able to test it on both iOS and tvOS and to share feedback about new features. Thank you :pray:t3:

Testflight has no mention of spatial audio support.

It was removed back in June 2023 due to issues with TrueHD and has not yet returned.

It was only removed on iOS.
It’s still there on Apple TV.

I need to check. I know the new audio player is still in the Apple TV, but they had disabled multichannel Spatial Audio when paired to AirPod Pros on both devices.

It displays Spatial stereo but is definitely multi channel. However playing anything with an actual stereo soundtrack (I have a lot of old content) is exactly that….just stereo and not spatial stereo.

Okay, so not true multichannel.

Spatial stereo is an iOS/tvOS feature with AirPod Pro and Max where the Apple device takes a stereo input signal and generates a 3D sounding environment. It doesn’t read an actual 5.1 or greater audio signal from the source. This is available in a lot of apps, including Apple Music for songs that aren’t available in true Spatial Audio.
