Ios - testflight - screenshot beta feedback doesn't work

Previously using buddy builds, the IOS app would generate a bug report when taking a screenshot (power + home).

The new testflight apps do not appear to generate this bug report anymore.

Can this be re-enabled, or was this some feature of buddy build?

What is the best way to capture an in-progress bug report, with logs and screenshot via testflight ?

I’m using Testflight releases and have been reporting like mad via the screenshot mechanism…

Not sure why it’s not working for you. Is it feasible for you to uninstall and reinstall from Testflight?

hmm I will try it shortly, thanks for the follow up

Also, there’s a setting to double check:

Settings / Help & Support / Debugging / Automatic Screenshot Feedback toggle ON

I do not have that toggle.

I currently have

  • show enhanced video player debug overlay’ (which is a crapton of text which you don’t want enabled if you actually want to watch).
  • verbose logging
  • share debugging data

Weird! What version do you have installed?

6.1 (18096) according to testflight

Yes but what version number?

6.1 (18096) according to testflight

also, deleting and reinstalling had no effect.

I also removed the previous device authorization before signing back in after reinstalling.

I’m also having the same issue. Don’t have that setting either. I just updated to 6.1 (18116) and still nothing.

still a problem on ios 6.2 (18240) testflight beta

it appears that the screenshot bug report is now working, but different than before.

I dont know if it was the update to ios 13, or the update to plex 6.2 (18292) that did it.

Now when you take a screenshot with the beta plex ios app, the screenshot minimizes to the bottom left, you tap it, then press done, then you finally get a menu to send beta feedback, save the image or delete it.

Not quite as simple as the previous method, but oh well.

The beta feedback no longer appears to attach device logs, like the previous buddy build did.

Yeah, there’s what Apple is doing with TestFlight on iOS 13.x (what you just described) and what Plex used to do with BuddyBuild – they’re similar but not the same.

You can still generate logs via Settings / Help & Support / Deugging / Share Debugging Data and email them manually to ios-beta@plex.tv (not screenshot required).

Yeah that is unfortunate;

I did not care much for the buddy build update process, but the beta feedback with screenshot+logs+email was very convenient.
