iOS Update UI Issue

The Plex app on my iPhone updated last night and now the music player UI is squished. Does it look like this for anyone else?

I cannot reproduce that on my iPhone (also iOS 14.4 and Plex for iOS 7.14). Does it stay squished like this if you force-quit and restart the app?

Yes, I’ve tried a couple of times. I’m guessing it has something to do with my small phone?

It does indeed look like the same issue, just a lot more pronounced on my smaller screen. Is there a way to escalate to the developers so that they validate their fix on an iPhone SE (2016) simulator?

Good catch… it seems a fix is on its way but no ETA / confirmation in which exact release it’ll be included.

This issue has surfaced on my iphone 6 running iOS 12.5.1 after todays Plex update Version 1.22.0.4163

Meaning you didn’t have the issue with 7.14.0 but the fix introduced with 7.14.1 is actually causing the same symptom for you?

The controls and track info are usable now in 7.14.1, however, the cover art (and visualizer when on) is still as small as it was in my screenshot. It used to fill nearly half of the screen.

If you refer to the link I put in earlier, they confirmed that they are doing a staged release…first the controls (7.14.1) then the cover art area.

The cover art is still so small AND it is impossible to visualize the lyrics (from .txt files) as it was before…
But this should be corrected in the next update …

That is correct. I was unaware of this issue - until it affected me. When I upgraded my plex server I found the plex player on my iphone behaving oddly and in searching for a fix I found this page with screen shots that look just like what I see on my iphone. Hope this helps

As per

what they solved was the controls (see OP’s first screenshot for comparison). Since they are staging the release the cover art / lyrics area I suspect they are treating it as a different topic.

Unfortunately, it has been some time and there has been no word on the cover art area :frowning:
