In iPadOS 13 Apple added support for videos to keep playing in a window even when you exit the app. I think it’s part of the multitasking features added in iPadOS 13. Would be amazing to have this feature available for the iPad app.
This is already possible. You have to manually select the PiP option, and then close the app.
