iPadOS External Storage Support [for Sync content]

Hi,
Long time PLEX lover and an iOS user.
Is there any way that with Apple enabling external storage that the team at PLEX can integrate the option for us to Sync content to external drives? I don’t always buy the iPads with a ton of capacity, but it would be great with the new iPad Pro and a USB drive if I could use that external drive as a sync location (to keep my iPad capacity itself unused)

It may turn out that with iPadOS that Plex won’t have to do anything to make this work.

Based on the Beta iPadOS I’m running and the latest Plex app, it appears that the app will need to integrate with the Apple FILES app or an API Apple may make available (ie: it still only consumes the internal storage)

I’m considering the purchase of iPad Pro and the primary user of storage space will be Plex offline cache.

Is anyone able to test this feature out for me please? Thanks.

Plex does not seem to handle this case so far. But you can go and buy “Infuse 6 Pro” for the iPad. You can watch Plex libraries. And it will handle movie files - even on iPads/iPhones with lightning port -> on a (new generation) SanDisk iXpand Go for iOS - see here: https://firecore.com/forum/topic/22346
