Lightning port expandable storage adapters are great! But the plex app won’t let you select or change the download storage path other than the devices built in storage.
I have 128GB SD card plugged in and showing in “My files” but I can’t download to it. Android plex app lets you change the download path.
There’s already an existing suggestion thread discussing an option to store downloads to an external/connected drive on iOS devices. I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes. Unless I’m missing some unique aspect of your suggestion I’ll close this thread as a duplicate.
