Dear Plex community,

First off apologies if this is the wrong section. Wasn’t sure if it should be here or in channels section!

I have a QNAP TS451+ I have installed the PMS on here.
I am trying to get IPTV channels to work.

I have installed Cigaras IPTV.bundle app. The way I installed it was to upload the IPTV.bundle folder to the share/download folder via FTP

then via terminal I moved the folder to
[~/Library/Plex Media Server/Plug-ins] as there is no way I can see to access this folder via ftp or via the file manager in QNAP web portal.

I also uploaded a m3u playlist file. I know this works as I have tried it in vlc.

When I goto Channels and select IPTV I see all the channels but when I try selecting one I get an error that playback of media is unsupported. I have tried using the default playlist that came with IPTV.bundle and get the same error

the streams end with a .ts (transport stream) format. I have also tried .m3u and .m3u8 streams and its the same for all of them.

I have also done a quick install on windows to test and get the same error.

I have installed Channel Pear. When I use one of the channels they already have (BBC One) it worked fine.
When I tried to add my own media source using the url it all checked out fine but get the playback error via Plex.

I have also moved the plug-in to
share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Resources/Plug-ins-cece46d/

I get the same error message here too.

First of all, the first plugin dir you tried was the correct one.
Secondly, I urge you to check out WebTools (See my signature), that can assist you in the future with installing 3.Party plugins
And lastly, since this is not a PMS issue, but a Channel issue, go here to locate the relevant support thread:

Dear all
I have the NAS Qnap TS-451+ also and I have installed the webtools. When trying the preinstalled channel in the IPTV application from webtools it works fine. Now I have added my own channels list from my tuner within same network (the same M3U list works perfectly with VLC)
I can see the list of channels showing now in Plex IPTV but when I click on them no video is coming at all. I can see a light starting on my tuner which usually means that someone is remotely accessing the tuner but no video on plex.
Any idea what I am missing ??

When looking in the UAS for the IPTV Plugin, it also list a support thread to ask questions in.

Please go there, since this forum is dedicated to QNAP based Plex Server issues, and not for individual plugins
