Is a Plex Pass needed for OpenSubtitles search

Hi,

I want to know if a Plex Pass is needed or not in order to retrieve subtitles automatically from OpenSubtitles. I have it checked under ‘Agents’ and signed in using the correct info, but it doesn’t retrieve them nor do I see an option to manually import them from OpenSubtitles.

No Plex Pass required. You must be the owner/admin of the Plex server (shared users can’t do this).

Check language settings in PMS Settings → Languages.

Refresh metadata for the library (required, but not mentioned in support article). The download will start almost immediately. It may take some time (tens of minutes, not hours) to fully populate based on the size of the library.

There is a separate feature, On-Demand Subtitle Search, which does require a Plex Pass.
