Subtitles not downloading

I setup plex media server and works great except I tried to setup subtitles to auto download from opensubtitles.org. It never seems to work and I have to manually find and download them. Are there official step by step to get this working? Or is this a feature that is only available for paid subscription? I’m still waiting for the lifetime pass to be under $100 before I get it. Wish my friend had told me about it sooner. I hope I don’t have to wait till black friday deals.

Using the opensubtitles.org agent does not require a Plex Pass. The On Demand subtitles feature does require a Plex Pass.

At one time, there was a limit on how many subtitles that could be downloaded in a 24 hour period. See this post.

You can also download subtitles from other sites and manually add them to your library. See Your Media -> Using Subtitles -> Fetching Internet Sourced & Using Your Own Subtitle Files for a list of sources.
