Is ChuckPA's FAQ 16 still applicable for DSM 7?

I’ve run into the common issue of movies using TRUEHD 7.1 not playing which guided me to ChuckPA’s FAQs, specifically FAQ 16: Increase the number of folders Plex can monitor. However, in one reply, ChuckPA mentioned Synology had implemented another measure of protection that prevented it from sticking. The thread was closed with no further comments.

Does the procedure in FAQ 16 work on DSM 7 (7.0.1-42218) or do I need to take other measures for this to stick?

FWIW, the problem cropped up when I uploaded my 20 years of digital photos to Synology Photos and the PLEX app.

P.S. I verified this was the issue because, after removing the photo folders from the PLEX photo library, I was able to play movies with TrueHD 7.1.

Exactly the same on DSM 7 as DSM 6

each slot you add is 540 bytes. Make sure you have enough memory because the memory is added to the kernel and is NOT swappable if you run out.
