I want to find out if anyone else is having this issue. It may just be my TV. But the OSD disply of the Current Time and End time of the movie are being cut off at the top and bottom of the screen. The top, oh let's say 1/10, of the current time is cut off at the top of the screen, while only about the top 1/10 of the ending time is seen at the bottom of the screen below the Progress bar of the movie player. My ATV3 is connected directly to the TV via HDMI, and the ATV Optical is going through my receiver (though the optical realy isn't involved in this).
Is everybody seeing this (which might suggest a PlexConnect issue, or is there some TV resolution thing going on on my setup? My ATV PlexConnect is streaming at 1080p 40Mbps to my Samsung TV. The TV supports 1080P resolution.
Nevermind. After researching this on the web for my model TV, it turns out that factory setting does this. I had to turn off a factory service menu item called Overscan. Now it looks great. Problem solved.
I'm also seeing the same thing on my Samsung TV. I just thought it was a PlexConnect issue, but wasn't too worried. I'll have to see if I have an overscan setting turned on.
On Samsung TV's make sure you have the Picture Options/Size set to Just Scan to get a 1:1 pixel mapping with no overscan. If you set it to 16:9 or any kind of Wide then you'll get overscan and parts of the image will be cut off. This goes for any other make of TV, they just call the mode a different name.

My Sammy only had 16:9, 4:3 and Wide options. Two Zoom options were greyed out in the mode I was in, but no Scan option. I had to go into the service menu to turn off overscan. This is an old, 2006 vintage DLP tv. For the most part I love it and it still works great but Sammy has come out with much better menu controls since this came out.

I have the same issue with my Samsung DLP. I went into the Service menu (mute, 1,8,2, then power) and changed "Overscan" to "OFF". Even after doing this, I still have the same issue with the osd being cut off on bottom and top.
I changed the Overscan setting in the "SDP62(SCALER)" menu. Is this where you changed it as well?

I would have to go back and look, but I believe my overscan setting was in the SP52 menu. You may have a different model and the menu may be different for that model. I have also read that some Sammys will reset the overscan to on seemingly by themselves. There are instuctions on the web on how to deal with that situation too but I didn't need them on mine. I have a HL-S5688. Your model may be different but I would go back and check if the Overscan setting reset. Other than this setting, I am not aware of anyway to reduce the geometry of a DLP TV.
Oh yes, I am not sure if overscan is a setting which impacts all viewing inputs at once. You might have to make sure you are viewing the Plex input and then go to service menu and turn off overscan. One more thing to check.
Umm... dsds could you post a photo showing how much is cut off please.
If need be I may add the option to move the times further into the screen to help people with overscan problems, however I need to see how far it's cut off.
