Me along with many others would love the option to filter content by spoken language and/or subtitles. Maybe it’s mostly us bi-lingual people but I guess it’s good for some others too.
Its my understanding that plex is based in America and I get that if the developers also are from there they don’t really see why this is such a big deal, but for some of us it is.
In my case it’s because I’ve recently introduced some older relatives to my plex server and they can’t really enjoy a movie if it doesn’t have subtitles in their native language. And when it comes to children they can’t really enjoy it without native spoken language. Sure, it’s no biggie to find suiting movies/series if you have a small library but to go thru a huge library? Pain in the ass I would say.
I did a quick search and found an old thread about this, but it was located in some irrelevant sub forum and it had to my knowledge no answer from a developer.
So I’m asking here instead; are there any plans to implement this feature?
As a solution to that problem, what I did was create a new library called Childrens and put the movies in Spanish in another folder. To small users, my grandchildren, I made them users who can only see those movies.
Yes I was searching for the same thing and would like to see such a filter implemented into plex.
I have a big library with a lot of movies and tv-shows with more than one language track.
It would be great if I could filter by language for some of my family members.
They would only see the files that also contain a german audio track for example.
For years i have been waiting … and still waiting…
Not sure what is so complicated about this feature. Once the indexing is finished (or additional analysis)… all the necessary infos should be available to filter…
