I currently have around 9 or 10TB of content in the cloud.
I’m hoping to cloud sync it over to amazon and am trying to plan how to conquer this feet.
My thought process is to create a system that will utilize docker containers, AWS lambda, or ec2 instances to launch plex servers, connect to my cloud storage, and then cloud sync it.
Before I start down this path, I was curious how Plex would handle this? Would it understand that these 5 unique servers are all uploading from a library called “TV Shows” thus they should all be stored in a cloud sync library of the same name?
Are there any issues I should look out for in doing this other than ensuring i’m not cloud syncing large numbers of files at once per server?
Is there a better way?
I can tell that you are much more tech savy than I, but I may have an insight. 10 T of data is really impressive, how did you upload it?
If I understand you you will have multiple computers uploading when you refer to multiple servers. My experience is that that doesn’t work. Cloud sync has problems if you sync from multiple computers, and only seems to track the last machine’s content uploaded under your account.
@brucethevideobug I ended up abandoning this idea. However the newly unveiled “Plex Cloud” has given me new hope.
Thanks for the answer regarding Cloud Sync with multiple computers.
I’m glad I didn’t try to set all this up just to find it wouldn’t work.
@Realistic Did you apply to be in the Beta Program?
So far, Plex Cloud is working really well.
I’m quickly pushing more content to ACD as fast as I can
@hthighway I did apply. I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to get in!
