While unsupported, Plexamp currently runs (mostly) fine on Android TV. Visualizers and library browsing are not supported, and it basically must be queued up with a phone. But aside from that, it’s been a solid experience for me. The only big problem is that you can’t install it directly via Google Play: you have to sideload it via your least-unfavorite method and security is all up to you.
In the 2024 Fireside chat, it was indicated that improving the TV experience is something they’ve got in their radar though.
