Ok so I realize that PlexAmp is not necessarily made for a tv interface…
But. Since it already exists on Android and has such a dynamic interface, can not something be done?
Like for example, in PlexAmps biggest stretched state (say, expanded to 1920x1080) maybe the resulting interface can be tweaked to be a decent “fullscreen” app for a computer. Then as a side effect, just use that interface on Android TV?
I guess this is a bit outlandish, but music on Plex on Android TV currently is very basic but also very simple. PlexAmp would be a good addition there for all the music bells and whistles, while keeping the main app simple.
Also it would bring visualisations to a tv interface which would make them more useful imo.
Wouldn’t plexamp on android tv solve gapless (among other things like 5.1) on android TV? For me the shield “experience” is so lacking music wise.
Even a stripped down plexamp in a display-only mode as long as it could be controlled by a handheld device would be so cool. A sort of play engine if you will.
Have you checked out the settings lately on the Plex client on Android TV? They added a bunch of stuff from PlexAmp a few weeks back. This, for me at least, elevated the music experience on the Shield high enough to not need PlexAmp there.
Yeah that was my experience as well. For me it’s the sweet fades and the volume leveling that I can’t live without, and both of those are now included on the Android TV client
