Is it possible to give admin access to another user to manage a Plex Server?

Plex Server for Windows

My roommate and I both have our own Plex Servers. Mine is highly organized and his is not so well organized. He would like to give me rights to administratively control his Plex server so that I can organize everything like I have done with mine.

Can anyone shed some light on the best way to accomplish this without having to give admin rights to the whole computer?

You can only go so far with just their plex login credentials. At some point you may need to access the very device the content is on to correct stuff.

Yeah, I get that part. Thanks for your response. That’s insanely easy to do by simply giving me write access to a share that goes to the Plex Media location.

However, my question is in regards to the Plex management portion only.

No. Only the server owner has admin rights.

Though… Just thought of something. If you both trust each other and your roommate has a plex pass then he can invite you to plex home. that way you can switch to his account and make the changes.

Thanks. We do indeed both have Plex passes so I’ll give that a try.

Thanks for the help.

Keep in mind that as soon as you join his Plex home, that your own Plex home is destroyed and all managed users are erased ( if you have any).
