Is it really optimizing the database?

Lately when I delete a Library, it automatically kicks off an Optimize Database’ activity. At least, it appears to. The Activity icon spins, and if you drop down the Activity menu, it says “Optimizing database.”

But if you go to the “Manage Server” menu in the sidebar while that optimization is running, the “Optimize Database” command is not grayed out, as it normally is if you started it from there.

This is probably cosmetic, but it brings up some questions. Is the optimizing really happening after you delete a Library? If the user clicks on the menu item when it is already running, will it cause a problem?
