Is Plex Media Server for Linux defunct?

Player Version#: plex-media-player.x86_64.2.58.1-4.fc36 from @rpmfusion

I can’t find any available download for Plex Media Server for Linux here on plex.tv. Is it defunct now?

I have been using a version from the @rpmfusion-free Fedora repo, but it has not been ported to Fedora 37. The Fedora 36 version is dependent on V1 of libmpv, and Fedora has moved on to V2.

Is there a recennt version of the Linux media player available for download? (it will need to be rebuilt for linmpv.so.2.)

support article describing how to use the official repo

I’m not sure if you meant to title this in Plex Media Player or Plex Media Server

Plex Media Player has been discontinued for all platforms since 2019

Plex for Linux is the desktop app and Plex HTPC is the Tv based app both are available for linux https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app
