Hi All,
I saw this post: Any ETA on a Linux client?
my question is the same, would there be an ETA for Linux client? If there is one already (in testing/development) would it be possible to share the links? (I would like to try)
Thanks,

Thanks,
All we got at the moment is a comment that there’s going to be a Linux version for the Plex HTPC client currently in forum preview.
No further details available.
Does it mean we will not get a PMP for Linux?
We had builds of the “old” PMP from Knapsu AppImage and Flatpak.
But no new release there for a while.
I suppose that’s because PMP 2.58.0 was the last public release of PMP for Mac and Windows as available from Plex.
Seems Mac and Windows got a new Plex Player that took over for the PMP. It is that one I would like to see coming to Linux.
I do not much care about HTPC (which is announced coming to Linux). I just want a simple Linux Player.
An official headless linux audio player that can run as a daemon with strong (well documented) API control would be great. Throw in native support for audio output as an AES67 stream and I’d be in heaven.
Linux HTPC Please !!!
Plex Media Player has worked great but is starting to show it’s age and is having trouble working on Linux in many cases.
Any idea when Plex HTPC for Linux will be available?
Yes, I miss the old Plex Home Theatre for Linux too. While I wait for a new Linux build (if ever) I do use Kodi with the Plex Add-on which I set to auto-start on my Linux PC / HTPC
Linux support is an absolute requirement for me to continue using Plex.
Bump. What’s the latest on Linux support?
Shouldn’t this be a priority with the Steam Deck coming up?
totally - a modern, official/supported, desktop Linux player…of any flavor, yesterday, please (+1 for RaspPi arm64 images)
I agree and +1 to support the idea. Currently, I have to install Kodi on Linux and then inside of that have to use Plex. It would be really nice without all overhead.
Just adding in that I want a Linux client before the topic closes
Yeah I’m wondering what soon means.
Don’t know if you saw this update Plex HTPC feedback - #925 by gbooker02
Missed that. Thanks for posting it up here. Great news, hopefully we can see something soon even if it’s just beta test ready.
Agreed. I just powered up my rpi3 for the first time in a couple years. It booted Pmp 2.5 but it no longer communicates with the server. Sad really. I was hoping to use this device again. It was my primary device before I got my Roku. Loved to put it to use on another TV.
