my question is the same, would there be an ETA for Linux client? If there is one already (in testing/development) would it be possible to share the links? (I would like to try)
Seems Mac and Windows got a new Plex Player that took over for the PMP. It is that one I would like to see coming to Linux.
I do not much care about HTPC (which is announced coming to Linux). I just want a simple Linux Player.
An official headless linux audio player that can run as a daemon with strong (well documented) API control would be great. Throw in native support for audio output as an AES67 stream and I’d be in heaven.
Yes, I miss the old Plex Home Theatre for Linux too. While I wait for a new Linux build (if ever) I do use Kodi with the Plex Add-on which I set to auto-start on my Linux PC / HTPC
I agree and +1 to support the idea. Currently, I have to install Kodi on Linux and then inside of that have to use Plex. It would be really nice without all overhead.
Agreed. I just powered up my rpi3 for the first time in a couple years. It booted Pmp 2.5 but it no longer communicates with the server. Sad really. I was hoping to use this device again. It was my primary device before I got my Roku. Loved to put it to use on another TV.
