New to plex but reading all the problems on here not sure if it’s worth it. Peopleare nnot getting their answers… I’ll give it a few months
Is this a troll?
@joew it looks like a troll or a guy without any deeper knowledge to computer systems
@wilts666 Looking on your other threads, I can imagine why you dont get any answer. Let my try it like that:
I have a problem, please solve it
Which problem? Which version? Which errors do you get? Log files available? …
Keep in mind, nobody else knows what you have done or which system you are running on your end.
Question: Is Plex worth it?
Answer: Plex is free (or a small one time payment for some apps) so yes it is well worth it.
The only costly part, Plex Pass, is not needed for any of the core functionality.
Short answer: YES
Long answer: HELL YES Plex literally changed our entire media experience.
I find support quite adequate, people in this forum are a great and very helpful bunch.
Yes, yes, and yes. The best way to get support is to do a search for similar problems, and failing that, post a thread politely requesting help with a very good description of your problem and make sure to attach all pertinent logs.
Plex has been life-changing for me.
What is he giving a few months? Lol
Plex is worth it. CapsLock isn’t.
Sorry but of course Plex is worth it, Plex ties all of your media in to one place and then adds all the metadata, artwork etc no problem, then you can use basically any device to access it, if you have a good internet connection you can then access your content basically worldwide.
Plex is amazing for what it can do, i also don’t understand the give it a few months comment its just strange, just dive in and get a server going, depending on how much media you have you can be up and running within an hour.
it’ll be worth it for me if they add LIve TV for HDhomerun… currently using Kodi, but will consider starting a subscription with Plex if they add this. right now with Kodi I don’t really see it as worth It because I don’t stream stuff outside my home, but if you’re doing DVR/PVR, Kodi is a better option, in my opinion since Plex can only view stuff that is recorded.
Well
What is it worth to you to have all your media available at your fingertips?
What is it worth to you to be able to watch any media in any room in your house on demand?
What is it worth to you to be able to basically play any content on just about any device type?
What is it worth to you to have a very nice user interface to your media with artwork, descriptions, and useful tags? (Gracenote Support)
What is it worth to you being able to share your media with friends and family anywhere on the planet?
All that is basically free today.
Plex IS worth it for that price… No?
If your asking is Plex Pass worth it?
It is for me. You will have to be the judge of that for your requirements and usage.
doesn’t Plex Pass give you access to some OTA channels? that might be worth it if you don’t have access to cable TV.
I already subscribe to cable service, so that doesn’t really apply to me.
however, as I mentioned before, if they can manage to add Live TV tuning from devices such as HDHomerun then I think it will be a big step in bring a lot more people in for a Plex pass. right now Kodi does have a bit of an advantage in this area as it can do both DVR and Live TV.
I like how Plex is already built into my Samsung TV…

You do mean that the app is pre-installed, or are you saying some thing else?
