I’d like to be able to watch videos on Plex whenever I want, instead of having to run the server each time I start a video.
Is there a way to do this?
My server runs 24/7.
Mine closes after each video. Sometimes during the video…
I’ve been running Plex for over a year.
I’ve tried re-installing, and re-formatting my whole PC but it still closes after each video.
please attach logs from Settings > Manage > Troubleshooting > Download Logs after the server crashes the next time.

Do you have your PC set to auto logout after inactivity?
No, it just goes to sleep.
Set it so it doesn’t go to sleep…

The server closes regardless of the power state of the PC. Also, I’m pretty sure Plex should be able to run with the computer in power-save mode, as all applications run in that state.
Did you have a chance to look through them?
Do you have your power settings like the image below? The server can not keep running the pc sleeps or powers down.
Can PLEX really not run while the computer is in sleep mode?
I’ll give it a try. But I’m not convinced that this is the problem, as the server closes while I’m on the PC. Usually only runs for about an hour.
No Plex can not run when computer is in sleep mode.

Alright. I’ve booted the server up at 11:10am EST. I’ll be on my PC all day, and sleep mode is turned off.
I’ll report back as soon as I notice the server has closed. I’ll re-up my logs at that point as well.
It’s 12:32am EST and the server is not longer running. I’ve been watching Twich, and Windows has not so much as gone to screensaver.
I’ve rebooted it in order to download the logs, which are here:
It’s now 12:40am EST and it’s closed again.
I haven’t done anything at all besides click on the Plex Media Server shortcut in Windows.
